Offhand Remarks

I am a country woman living in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Books have fascinated me since before I could read well. Long before I could escape and travel 'real-time', I found my way around the world through reading. My mother belonged to a book club and I read everything that she ordered before she did. These were stories for readers far older than myself. I believe I actually learned many facts of life from romance novels. I enjoy TV, movies and researching online, but they can never replace the wonder of books for me.
